Protein Bliss Balls - date & choc.

These delicious bites are great for an energy boost. With coconut, almond, dates & cacao, they are a little bubble of fibre, protein, healthy fats & antioxidants. Roll in hemp seeds for extra fibre, omegas and protein.

Gluten free - dairy free - vegan.

Enjoy with a creamy avocado green smoothie for a balanced meal - together they are a fab brain boost! There's fibre to keep the gut bugs happy. They are easy to make and store, and are a quick snack when you don't have much time - super satisfying too. Perfect for before a meeting, an exam or the gym.

With vitamin C, zinc, nitric oxide, flavonoids & healthy omegas - everything you see in this pic will nurture your immune and keep your body's cells healthy.


Recipe:

  • 3/4 cup shredded coconut

  • 1 cup raw almonds -soaked ones are ideal.

  • (or 2/3 cup almond meal)

  • 20 large pitted medjool dates

  • 1/4 cup cocoa or cacao

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla


Place in a food processor, then shape into balls. If the mixture is too sticky, add some more almond meal. If the mix is too dry, just add a couple more dates, or a few prunes.

Roll in hemp seeds, coconut or cacao or leave naked. Store in the refrigerator. Can freeze.


**Experiment with different nuts & seeds and spices, such as cinnamon, turmeric, nutmeg.

**check your cocoa is dairy free if necessary




Green smoothie recipe:

  • 1 small avocado

  • 1 tsp fresh aloe gel (straight from the leaf) **. See notes on how to prepare below.

  • 1 orang, pineapple or mango or kiwi

  • around 80 ml quality mixed juice

  • 2 handfuls baby spinach.

  • water

  1. Optional: 1 tsp Moringa powder or green veg powder

  2. Aloe: Cut a large leaf on an angle. Leave to drain in a cup with some water for at least an hour. Then, cut away the perished edge and enjoy just the fresh, white inner gel. The yellowish sap is not useful and may be irritating to some people. This sits between the leaf and the gel and will drain out in the cup.

  3. Store left over smoothie in a jar for up to 24-48 hours.
